We are appointed with multiple A-Rated insurance carriers that give us authority to issue insurance to our clients on their behalf. An Independent Agency / Agent can find the best rate for the clients personal and business insurances all under one roof, so the client can deal with one Agency / Agent for all their insurance needs. Essentially, an Independent Agency will do the insurance shopping for the client to cut out the hassle of insurance buying and make it less burdensome. This option is pretty appealing for most people. An independent Agency is not only convenient, but it gives the client the freedom of options!
Some independent agencies are limited on what products they can offer and they may only offer home and auto and are limited on the amount of insurance carriers they are appointed with. Will Using An Independent Agency / Broker Cost Me More?
The answer to that is, NO!
It actually works in the best interest of the client. The client gets personal representation from an Insurance Agent /Agency that goes to work to find the client a sutiable policy through multiple insurance carriers to fit their personal need. If a policy activated (also known as bound) the insurance carrier pays the agency a commission to service that policy for the policy term.
The Independent Agency is not held to one insurance carrier, like many other insurance companies you see on TV are. In our view this does not serve the client best. Things change, so in the event the rate increases or circumstances change with the client, the Independent Agent /Agency goes to work to find them another carrier to suit their current situation. So, things change but the client doesn’t have to change the agency.
